The RZR XP Turbo EPS was introduced in July, 2015. The key aspect of the 2016 Polaris RZR XP Turbo EPS is the 144 hp, 925cc, ProStar turbocharged engine which delivers 105 ft-lbs of peak torque. The engine is mated to a CVT transmission and a new High Performance AWD/2WD drive system with new clutching and new drive belt designs and stronger half shafts. Other key features of the RZR XP Turbo EPS include:

  • 16″/18″ of front/rear suspension travel
  • 2.5″/3.0″ Fox Podium Internal Bypass shocks with compression adjustment and remote reservoirs
  • 4-Wheel hydraulic disc with triple-bore front and dual-bore rear calipers
  • 13.5″ of ground clearance
  • 29″ Maxxis Bighorn Tires
  • Aluminum wheels
  • Electronic power steering
  • LED lights
  • Upgraded cooling system

The MSRP has been lowered to $19,999 from $24,999 with the introduction of a new model version for 2017.

The following are the highlights from reviews of the 2016 RZR XP Turbo EPS. As expected for such a high end machine there are not many negative comments about the vehicle. In general, all the reviewers were impressed by the increased power, handling, suspension and braking of this model. It should be noted that a recall was issued in December, 2015 for this vehicle because of an oil line issue. Polaris released additional information about this and other RZR recalls including warranty extensions, vouchers and discounts for vehicle owners.

  • Reached 78 mph during testing but could tweak the speed/rev limiter and possibly reach 90 mph
  • Suggest staying in 4WD
  • 2WD worked better in sand than on hard pack but Bighorn tires “wandered” in the sand
  • Very fast on straights and quick out of corners
  • Sway bar reduced body roll and provides for more steering precision
  • Cooling system is more complex

  • New seat position “…greatly improves the orientation of the seat to steering wheel and gives you a better view over the hood of the vehicle.”
  • Very powerful
  • Steered nicely through corners
  • Fox shocks handled whoops with ease
