Chinese EV franchise opens in Riverside, CA

A new dealership dedicated to neighborhood electric vehicles (NEV) has opened in Riverside, CA. The three vehicles currently offered, a 2-passenger microcar, a 2-passenger pickup and a 6-passenger microvan, are manufactured in China. Each vehicle, limited to 25mph to comply with low-speed vehicle (LSV) regulations, has a range of 25-40 miles and is recharged from standard 110V outlets in 6-8 hrs. The cost ranges from $9,995 for the car to $16,005 for the 1/2-ton capacity truck and $17,995 for the van. The Singh EcoCentre is a partnership between Singh Auto Group and local EV entrepreneur Alvarez Electric Motors Co. Alvarez's three dealerships currently stock 130-140 vehicles and are selling 20 vehicles per month.
