Eicher-Polaris appoints Pankaj Dubey in company's Board of Directors

NEW DELHI: Pankaj Dubey, Managing Director, Polaris India has been inducted as one of the Board of Directors in Eicher Polaris. Eicher Polaris (EPPL) is a 50:50 joint venture between Eicher Motors and Polaris Industries. The two companies signed a strategic joint venture agreement in July 2012. Backed by an investment of over Rs 350 crore, EPPL combines Eicher's proven expertise in frugal engineering, lean business model and in-depth understanding of emerging markets with the excellent product development capabilities and world class reliability of Polaris. The company launched their first automobile, five-seater Multix in India on June 18, 2015. Priced between Rs 2.32-2.72 lakh, it is touted as the country's first personal utility vehicle for independent businessmen. Eicher-Polaris has also entered into a strategic partnership with Cholamandalam Investment and Finance Company (CHOLA) to offer vehicle financing options to Multix's customers across India. "The vehicle fills the gap which was continuing for several years in the country, this is the perfect match in terms of utility for a large section of society and I am sure a grand success," says Pankaj Dubey, CEO, Polaris India. 48 year old Dubey has been serving as Managing Director of Polaris India since January 2011, at the time of the company's inception. Prior to joining Polaris, he has worked with Yamaha Motors India, Lohia Machinery, and Hero.
